Hey internets, you know I’m ALL about going to awesome events so here’s a few this weekend!
1. Starkey @ 330 Ritch, 11/8/2012, 10pm.
Tonight, and it’s probably already started, Starkey @ 330 Ritch. He goes on at 12:15am! Starkey does amazing, crazy super underground, so bass heavy music, but it’s not house and it’s not EDM. It’s a huge wave of beats and bass, if that’s your thing, with some awesome R&B samples. I fell in love with his music a few years back, and am definitely not happy I’m missing this one! He’s been here in San Francisco a few times before, recently at 1015 Folsom, one of my favorite and most attended venues here in the city. Here’s the Facebook event page.

2. Mount Kimbie, ital tek, xxyyxx @ 1015 Folsom, Friday, 11/9/2012, 10pm.
This is where I’ll be tomorrow night. There is one other event I was super stoked about going to (look at the next one) but this just kind of blows it out of the water. What an incredible lineup: Mount Kimbie, Ital Tek, xxyyxx, Giraffage, DJ Dials, and D33j! I have listened to every single one of the artists except for Giraffage, but I know every act will be completely worth it. Mount Kimbie is a lot like one of my other favorites, Shlohmo; they produce brilliant chillwave electronic R&B music. It’s so hard to explain, but among my top favorite sounds. Ital Tek is more EDM, but I really enjoy his music. DJ Dials is the guy who puts on all of my favorite events, and D33j is chill electronic. Come along and it’ll be a really awesome night! 3. Sónar On Tour @ Fox Theater Oakland, Friday, 11/9/2012, 7pm.
DIE ANTWOORD IN OAKLAND! Sónar on tour!!!! If you know anything about me, you know going to Sónar in Barcelona is the ONE festival I want to go to. This year, Sónar has been awesome–they are a huge, ginormous, electronic and digital media & arts festival–and thrown festivals in other parts of the world (Japan, Buenos Aires…) and they are doing a mini-tour! This year’s tour lineup includes: Die Antwoord, Azari & III, Seth Troxler, Paul Kalkbrenner, Nic Fanciulli. All amazing names. Here’s the Facebook page and flyer.
